The lease agreement between Dade’s business and a state agency was signed before he held or was even campaigning for office, and he no longer holds a financial interest in the lease. It is telling that the article omits this key fact—it was also written by people who work for David Covey’s largest donor. Dade Phelan has always consistently, properly, and publicly disclosed his interests, and suggestions that he ever sought or had an opportunity to profit off his office are blatantly false.
